The Royal Mews is an important part of Buckingham Palace and provides road transport for the king and Queen as well as members of the Royal Family by horse drawn carriage. The horses in the Royal Mews are for the most part either Windsor Greys or Cleveland Bays but the Hanoverian Cream horses take pride of place in the harness on major state occasions. The horses are regularly exercised in the art of pulling for ceremonial duties and for usual transportation.
